She has been employed as an Assistant District Attorney with Ellis County since October 2020. During the course of her law school career she participated in SMU’s civil-law clinic, where she represented indigent clients in small-claim matters. Shortly after graduating, Rebecca joined the civil division of the Kaufman County DA’s Office, where she practiced as an Assistant DA from 2014-2020. Rebecca primarily serves as general counsel to the Ellis County Commissioners Court. During her employment, Rebecca’s practice has had a concentration in regulatory and county-growth issues. Rebecca recently participated in the redrafting of subdivision regulations for both Kaufman and Ellis counties and was a part of the Kaufman County litigation team to resolve three major pipeline road damage claims, resulting in large settlement amounts.
