Alison Ferrante is an Assistant Mesa City Prosecutor.  She is also current chair of the Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona and is also a member of the Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Florida.   In addition to her regular prosecutorial duties, she also handles the animal cruelty cases and seizure hearings.  She also is accredited as an instructor for POST in the area of animal cruelty investigations and prosecutions.  She has also presented to various agencies on the importance of investigating animal cruelty cases and on the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence and other criminal behavior.  She has presented for the Judicial Conference, the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys’ Advisory Council, the Maricopa Association of Governments Regional Domestic Violence Council, PACC 911 Animal Cruelty Symposium, Arizona State University College of Law, University of Arizona College of Law, the Arizona Crime Prevention Association, the Gilbert Citizens’ Academy, the Gilbert Police Department Post Academy, and the Committee on the Impact of Domestic Violence and the Courts.  She is a Member of the State Bar of Arizona and Florida and is the founder and co-chair of the Arizona Professionals’ Animal Cruelty Task Force.  She is also a member of the Arizona Forfeiture Association, member of the Child Abduction Response Team, and member of the Maricopa Association of Governments Regional Domestic Violence Council Leadership Affinity Group.   She is also the recipient of the 2018 National Humane Law Enforcement Award awarded by the National Sheriffs’ Association and the Humane Society of the United States and is a May 2019 graduate of the Bar Leadership Institute and was selected as the State Bar of Arizona Volunteer of the Month April 2019.
