Description

Throughout this presentation prosecutors and victim advocates will attain information in order to be able to identify the different risks associated with different technologies. Furthermore, attendees will be provided with thorough information on safety planning around different technologies, attain information on Data Brokers and opting-out of those; as well, as tools for victims and advocates to communicate as safely as possible. The attendees will also be provided with information, ideas and the use of different tools to document abuse, store and collect evidence.

Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry Office of Victim Services


As a victim advocate with the Office of Victim Services at the Arizona Department of Corrections, Alejandro Palacios educates victims on their victims’ rights; as well, as to assist to exercise them. Such as being heard during criminal justice proceedings, in particular to provide impact statements during clemency hearings. Furthermore, Mr. Palacios has worked as a technology safety specialist with the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Providing technical assistance and training on assessing and safety planning around abuse by means of technology. Mr. Palacios also was a trainer with the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence from 2013-2016. Mr. Palacios started his work in advocacy back in 2010 as a volunteer at a domestic violence shelter in Phoenix, Arizona.
