2019 APC-Privacy in the 21st Century: How Reasonable is it?

In 1967 the U.S. Supreme Court upended more than a century of precedent when it created the reasonable expectation of privacy standard in Katz v. United States.  Right now, due to breathtaking changes in technology that pose stark challenges to privacy and security, a similarly momentous shift is occurring in Fourth Amendment jurisprudence.  This session addresses how we got to the current interaction between privacy and the Fourth Amendment, where the courts might take us next, and how prosecutors should prepare for the new reality.
